Dress like your Inspiration:

Dress like your Inspiration

As our Queen Bey says, who run the world? GIRLS. So, listen up, ladies (and men), 8th March equals women’s day. Now, even though we are, should and do honour women every day, 8th March is universally recognised as the date when we further celebrate women and their achievements, when we cheer on women’s 3E’s (evolution, empowerment, emancipation), and when we advance the fight for equality.
This National Women’s Day, we’re combining your two favourite things: fashion and inspiration. Dress like your role models and follow in their footsteps as they make their mark in their world. After all, give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world (I mean, you can’t talk inspiration without acknowledging our fashion icon, Marilyn).

The Former First Lady, Forever a Timeless Inspiration

You may best know her as the former US First Lady, but before her man became America’s first African-American president, this strong and awe-inspiring woman was already revolutionizing the world. Championing through a multitude of important causes, breaking down barriers for education for girls, and promoting equal rights, healthy living and love, Michelle Obama stops at nothing to make material differences in so many lives. Plus, she’s not only a boss in the office, she’s also a boss in fashion:

Dress like Michelle by picking up this all-white power suit composed of a plain white top with a bold blazer style jacket and some white wide-leg flared trousers.

‘Kill Em With Kindness’

Who says you're not perfect? Definitely not our girl, Sel! Creating a positive, powerful and prominent name for herself, Selena Gomez has been looked up to by so many young female adults - and rightfully so! Selena’s taught us that it’s okay to not be okay. In advocating for mental well-being and embracing the ‘health first, career second’ attitude, she showed us that with strong-will and compassion, you can overcome any hurdle that comes your way. And it wasn’t just her beliefs that left an impact - her fashion sense too definitely made its statement.

SPAGHETTI KNITTED TUNIC TOP DENIM TIE-UP SPAGHETTI JUMPSUIT

Sel elevates a simple, casual denim outfit by pairing some denim overalls with a white tank. Top the look off with your signature sunglasses - it’ll for sure make people go ‘Look at her now’ (wink, wink).

A Duchess in Fashion

Actress. Activist. Advocate. Meghan Markle has been hailed as an inspiration as she stands up for what she believes in. By lobbying for women’s rights as a former UN Women’s advocate or by using her platform as a former Suits’s actress to address sensitive topics such as racial identity, Meghan has conquered the hearts of everyone around her. Now, although she may have stepped down from her role as a royal, she still knows how to dress like a queen:

ZIPPED UP ROMPER

Get your own casual-yet-flamboyant zipped up romper because this fulsome look is one that will certainly never go out of style.

So there you have it, three outfits, three styles for three inspirations. While you wear these looks and step into the shoes of these celebs, don’t forget to also adopt all the good virtues that make these three women our inspirations. As Michelle Obama famously noted ‘There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.’

With that being said,

Happy International Women’s Day.
