The Wizard of Oz

Chapter 1: Dorothy stood with her dog, Toto, in her arm when she heard a low wail of wind from the far north of Kansas. Now, from the south, came a sharp whistling in the air, alerting her that a cyclone was imminent. As a result of the ripping tornado, Dorothy and Toto had been whisked away from their home and brought to the magical land of Oz…. While Dorothy stood looking curiously at the beautiful sights, she noticed a group of peculiar individuals coming towards her. There were three men and one woman, but they were all oddly dressed: they wore round hats, gowns of blue and white, and well-polished boots. They seemed about as tall as Dorothy, although they were, so far as looks go, many years older. “You are welcome, most noble Sorceress, to the land of the Munchkins. We are so grateful to you for having killed the wicked Witch of the East, and for setting our people free from bondage.” Dorothy was beyond confused, what could this little woman possibly mean by labelling Dorothy a sorceress?…

As you tag along Dorothy’s adventurous journey trailing the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, follow exactly in her footsteps by wearing shoes akin to Dorothy’s iconic ruby red pumps.

Grease

*Breaks into song:‘Grease’ by Frankie Valli*
“I solve my problems, and I see the light
We got a lovin' thing, we gotta feed it right
There ain't no danger we can go too far
We start believing now that we can be who we are
Grease is the word…”
Plot: It’s the 1950s and the high school kids include a wholesome transfer student named Sandy, and a leather-clad named Danny, both of whom engage in a summer romance. But what happens when they’re put to the test of crossing clique lines? Will the duo last? Welcome to the singing and dancing, friendships and romances, adventures and romances world of ‘Grease’ – one of the most successful movie musicals of all time.

As per Vince Fontaine, “[i]t doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it’s what you do with your dancin’ shoes.” So, grab a pair of Sandy’s iconic red mules and get ready to dance the night away.

CUT TO:

INT. LIBRARY – DAY
Five students meet for detention on one Saturday at Shermer High School situated outside Chicago.
The scene consists of six tables in two rows of three, ready for the characters Brian Johnson, Andrew Clark, Allison Reynolds, Claire Standish, and John Bender – respectively known as a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess, and a criminal.
Brian enters, noticing Claire sitting at the front table. He sits at the table behind her. Andrew comes in and points at the chair set next to Claire. Claire shrugs and Andrew sits there.
In walks Bender. Heading to where Brian is sitting, he points to the table on the opposite side of the Library. Brian reluctantly moves over and Bender takes Brian’s former seat. Allison walks in and sits behind Brian.
Enter RICHARD VERNON, a teacher, holding a stack of papers. He speaks with the uttermost disrespect.
VERNON
“Well...well. Here we are! I want to congratulate you for being on time…”
Claire raises her hand.
CLAIRE
“Excuse me, sir? I think there's been a mistake…”

Seeking your chance to tell your story the same way these students are? Just like these five, make others see you a little differently as you mark your unique place in the world with a pair of Claire’s brown leather boots.

Dirty Dancing

Characters:
Johnny Castle: Dance instructor, Johnny, is identified as the local hunk at Camp Kellerman. In spite of his popularity for his success with women, he holds a low opinion of himself for letting them use him. While teaching Frances how to dance, the two fall in love, much to her father's chagrin.
Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman: Teenager Frances comes to Camp Kellerman with her family. Apart from quickly developing a crush on Johnny, she also helps his dance partner, Penny, pay for an abortion, adding to the friction with her father.
Dr Jake Houseman: Baby’s father, Jake, is an elite individual who wants his daughter to steer clear of Johnny. This is all the more so after he has asked Penny for help following a botched abortion, suspecting Johnny to be the one who got her pregnant.

Follow the beat of your own heart with this romantic drama dance film, and what better way to do just that than to step into the white sneakers of sweet daddy’s girl, Baby?

Pretty Woman

Iconic Moment:
Revisiting the revenge scene that is deemed one of the best in modern cinema, Vivian returns to a Rodeo Drive boutique whose employees had initially refused to help her because she was dressed like a prostitute.

But this second time around, Vivian comes in dressed in a floppy hat and button-down white dress. Her arm lays on a bar upon which countless bags are hung. Channelling her inner baddie, she strides up to the sale clerk and questions, “Do you work on commission?”
In response to the woman confirming that she does, Vivian, in a highly gloating manner, says “Big mistake. Huge!”, alluding to the commission she could have made if only she had agreed to help during the first encounter.
In this modern take on the typical Cinderella story, a wealthy businessman and a prostitute fall in love with each other, defying the conventional pairing. Live like Vivian, channel your inner baddie, and be your own boss when you wear her gorgeous thigh-high boots.

… and scene… for now.
